Members of the working news media must contact the Office of Marketing and Communications at 212.772.4000. Please direct commercial filming requests to the Campus Reservations Office at 212.772.4000 (Location Agreement).
Policy on Filming and Media on Campus
Film (including television and video) production on campus is allowed with the permission of the Office of Marketing and Communications. You must request and receive permission and submit an application before receiving approval to film on campus. In addition, you’ll need permission from the faculty member to film inside a classroom. Hunter College is committed to ensuring that students, faculty, and staff may operate without disruptions. Hunter’s filming policies and procedures aim to protect the privacy of our students, staff, and faculty at the College and ensure that daily activities are conducted without disruption.
Privacy
As part of these guidelines, Hunter College’s students, faculty, and staff reserve the right to decline to be photographed, filmed, or interviewed. You must respect the rights of the Hunter and CUNY community members. Individuals filming and photographing on campus shall obtain all necessary consent before filming or photographing members of the College community. Safety and Security
The CUNY Policy Regarding Use of College Facilities prohibits the use of College facilities in a manner that obstructs or disrupts College operations. Hunter and CUNY students, faculty, and staff members reserve the right of freedom of movement on campus. Moreover, CUNY policies require that persons or property not be exposed to safety hazards or activities that risk injury. It is unlawful to conduct activities that violate these guidelines. Consequently, in its sole determination, the College may prohibit filming in a particular location for these reasons.
